How it works
- Customer opens an INVESTPlus account with a participating bank and deposits funds
- Those funds are converted to virtual units of selected commodities at the exchange rate (ie SELL price) set by the bank
- Depending on the market dynamics, the bank updates the exchange rate
- When the customer withdraws funds, the virtual units of commodities in his/her account are converted back to Rupees at the exchange rate (ie BUY price).
- For certain commodities, the customer may be given the option to consume the actual commodity (ie. if the commodity is electricity units, the bill can be settled with the account balance)
